Damaged bottle? In any case, very odd! On opening, a promising nose but a very closed palate. After decanting, it opens up little by little, revealing beautiful aromas of plum, tobacco, leather, wood, and mushroom. The palate, structured, tannic, and balanced, also gains complexity, though more slowly. It becomes a very good wine, even if not at the level of a 1er Cru.
