Altesse, also known as Roussette, is a distinguished white grape variety originating from the Savoie region in eastern France. Renowned for producing elegant and refined wines, Altesse showcases a captivating aromatic profile, often expressing notes of white peach, ripe pear, quince, acacia blossom, and occasionally subtle hints of almond and spice. On the palate, these wines are medium-bodied with lively acidity, offering flavors of crisp apple, citrus zest, and mineral undertones, balanced by a characteristic freshness and finesse.

The principal winegrowing area for Altesse is the Savoie AOC, primarily within the sub-appellation of Roussette de Savoie, including notable crus such as Marestel, Monterminod, Frangy, and Monthoux. Altesse is typically vinified as a dry white wine, although off-dry styles can be found in select vintages. These wines are notable for their ability to age gracefully, developing more complex honeyed and nutty characteristics over time.
